Lauri Janose

August 20, 1954 — March 28, 2020

Lauri Ann Janose (Goosen), age 65, passed into the Lords hands unexpectedly on March 28th 2020. She was a lifelong resident of Coopersville, MI, she attended St Michael’s Catholic Schools in her earlier years and graduated from Coopersville High School. A few years later, she met her husband Don Janose. They were married on July 6th, 1974 and had 47 incredible years together. She will be greatly missed by Don and by their children Mark (LeAnn) Janose, Matt (Aubree) Janose, and by her cherished grandchildren, Trent and Savannah who deeply loved her and often called her Grandma Noser or GaGa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Goosen and mother, Marcia Meyers.

Lauri is also survived by sister, Lesli Finkler, brother-in-law, Gary Finkler, sister Kelly Nanninga (the late Dan Nanninga), sister, Teresa (Bruce) Jorgensen, sister, Faith Goosen and many nieces and nephews.

Lauri spent close to 20 years working for the Grand Rapids Press which she served the community by being the district manager for all the local carriers.  She managed many people and helped navigate the younger carriers with the responsibility of their first jobs of delivering the Press.

“It’s hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember.” This is the legacy Lauri will leave within many people.  Whether it’s from her contagious laugh, her stubborn ways, her vibrant wardrobe, her strong personality, her sassy and honest comments or the way she was a loving and caring friend.  Lauri was the true definition of a beautiful and special person inside and out.

Although Lauri was wonderful in so many ways, she shined at being a wife, mom and most of all a grandma.  Her life revolved around her family and especially her most precious grandchildren.  Saying she was a proud parent or grandparent barely scratches the surface.  She was a protector, listener, nurse whenever the grandkids were sick, therapist and a great gift giver!

She had the ability to make friends anywhere and everywhere she went, even though her home was her favorite place to be, she used many resources to connect with people all over and developed meaningful and ever lasting friendships.

She enjoyed sitting on her back deck and relaxing in her own back yard oasis while watching the birds, deer and any other animal that decided to drop by and stop to enjoy the peaceful scenery with her.  She often said she wanted a backyard full of animals that she could save and watch over daily.  Her true enjoyment is when the family would come over to swim, BBQ and chat during the long summer days.  She always got caught sneaking the kids extra ice cream and goodies and of course that was ok because “Gaga said so.”

Although we are very saddened on her sudden passing, Lauri left this earth on her own terms to return to the Lord.  She was in her safe place at home, filled with sweet moments, smiles and where many friendships were formed.  There was always a continuous and loud laughter that could be heard from the back yard with music always playing in the back ground.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Church 17150 88th Avenue Coopersville, MI with Father Ayub Nassar, Celebrant. Due to current circumstances the date and time have not been set yet. You may check back for service details at www.throopfh.com
