Kathy Vanopynen

Kathy K. VanOpynen, age 79, passed away peacefully at home on September 3.  She was surrounded in love and care by her immediate family.  Kathy was born on November 14, 1939 in Fremont, MI.  She married her beloved husband Bob on October 23, 1964 and together they raised three children. Kathy and Bob loved spending time together throughout their nearly 55 years of devoted marriage. They spent their leisure time golfing, walking the boardwalk in Grand Haven, MI and watching all of their favorite sports teams compete. Kathy was preceded in death by her father Aden Kerns, mother Ruth Kerns, sisters, Polly Neuhause, Harriet Converse, Mildred Tyler and brother Edward Kerns.  She is survived by her husband, Robert VanOpynen; daughters, Tammy (Russ) Blake and Jayne (Robin Dykhouse) VanOpynen; son, Randy (Val) VanOpynen; grandchildren, Jason Murphy, Alex Kuieck, Autumn Groelsma, Amber Blake and Michael VanOpynen; brother, Aden Kerns; sister, Virginia Keenen.
