Joyce Metten

Joyce E. Metten, age 90, of Coopersville, was called home to her Lord, Tuesday, July 23, 2019. She was born in Coopersville MI to the late Charles and Alberta (Busman) Grasman. She was a lifelong member of Coopersville Reformed Church where she assisted in the Sunday School and Bible School programs for many years, sang in the Church Choir and was a member of the Coopersville OK Kids and sang in the OK Choir. She was a graduate of Coopersville High School, received her Associate Degree from Davenport College and worked at Campus Town Family Practice in Allendale as a Nurse’s Assistant for many years. Joyce was a gifted seamstress and enjoyed sewing, baking and singing. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Paul and son, Phil. She is survived by her children, Terry (Jan) Metten, Brian (Suellyn) Metten, Sue (Kevin) Smoes, and Tim (Julie) Metten; daughter-in-law Barb Metten; 20 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren with one to arrive soon; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Donna (Roger) Brown and Barb (John) Grotenhuis; sister-in-law Ruth Moe and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 29th at the Coopersville Reformed Church with Rev Arnold VanBeek officiating. Burial will be in the Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 – 6:00 PM Sunday, July 28th at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville. Memorial donations may be made to Crossroad Bible Institute, P.O.
