David Kuieck

January 24, 1941 — April 15, 2021

David H. Kuieck, age 80, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 after a three year battle with cancer and COPD . He was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Harold and Marjorie (Doornbos) Kuieck. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Valerie Parker. Dave’s career highlight was being the creator and proprietor of Western Greens Golf Course that he established in 1967. Dave was known for his optimistic and engaging personality, world famous Bloody Mary’s and damn good chili dogs, and his contagious laugh. He was the heart and soul of his golf course for 50 plus years until he sold it in 2016. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Judy Kuieck; children, Scott Kuieck, Dana Kuieck; stepchildren, Kim Chesla, Rick (Gina) Chesla, and David Chesla; grandchildren, Alex, Chelsea (Tyler), Chaney, Bret, Devon, Riley, Aiden, and Avery; two great grandsons; niece, Jill (Scott) Meendering and nephew, Gary (Chelly) Heeringa. Please look forward to details regarding a celebration of Dave’s life and legacy this summer. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Ramdeep Banga, Dr. Marc McClelland and the staff at Spectrum Hospice for the extended care for Dave.
