Dale Robert Julien, age 72, of Kent City passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 25, 2020 at his home. Dale was born in Grand Rapids, MI. to the late Leon and Violet (Hamilton) Julien. He graduated from Coopersville High School, served in the Air Force with the 6994th Security Squadron during Vietnam and was retired from the CSX Railroad where he worked as a Brakeman, Yardman and Switchman. In addition to his parents Dale was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Richard Usher, sister, Clara Colegrove and brother-in-law, John Wilkin. Dale is survived by his wife of 22 yrs., Barbara (Wilkin) Julien; son, Charles (Vanesssa) Julien; daughter, Melinda Conde; grandchildren, Elliott Cripps, Huxley Julien, Jordan Conde and Loghen Burton; brothers-in-law, Herman Colegrove, Robert Jr. (Jeanie) Wilkin and Phillip (Marta) Wilkin; sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Melvin) Dunham and Jane Duiser; many nieces and nephews. Military Honors will be held at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, 2:00 PM Friday, Jan. 31, 2020 to honor Dale’s service to his country. Visitation will take place Friday 12 noon to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
