Carmen Dietrich

Carmen Mary (Goosen) Dietrich, aged 61, went home to be with her Lord and Savior after bravely fighting brain cancer.  Before marriage, she was born and raised in Coopersville and started her family in nearby Conklin, surrounded by fruit trees. She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Rose (Egan) Goosen; sister Rita Goosen; sister-in-law Mary Dietrich, sister-in-law Louise Goosen; and brother-in-law Joel Vogel. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, James, of 38 years; children Phillip, Adam, Curtis (Kaity) Dietrich, & Angela (Bret) Sommers; grandchildren Calvin, Adaline, Rose, Walker, and Cael; siblings Linda (Robert) Rogers, Pat (Jim) Harlett, Jerry (Shirley) Goosen, Dennis (Cathy) Goosen, David (Pat) Goosen, Carla (Mike) VanDyke, Mary (Richard) Baker; father and mother-in-law Leo and Eleanor Dietrich, sister-in-law Julie (Donald) Rasch, and brother-in-law Michael (Lorrain) Dietrich and many wonderful nephews and nieces. Carmen will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family and a devoted friend to so many. Carmen loved spending weekends up north at the cabin, biking on the trails, and visiting East Lansing to cheer on the Spartans. In addition to her love for helping others in need, she found joy in visiting with neighbors and treasured the laughter and fun she shared with her dearest friends. In keeping with her wish cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 13, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wright with Fr. Andrew Ayers celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Joseph cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville and Monday 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at church.
