William Haisma Sr.

William Frank Haisma Sr., age 84, of Marne, MI., passed away peacefully at home with his family after a brief illness on Monday, July 23, 2018. Bill was born in Grand Rapids to the late Frank and Jeanette (Hoogewind) Haisma. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War and retired from Grand Rapids Gravel. In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by his son William Jr., brother Herman and sister Donna Cribley. He is survived by his sisters, Charlotte (Dan) Matthews, Esther Haisma and Sharon (Gene) Eden; sister-in-law, Loraine Haisma; brother-in-law Ron Cribley and many nieces and nephews. Bill will be lovingly missed by his wife of 57 years, Nola (Gleason); his children, Colleen Haisma, Connie (Paul) Peck, Michael Haisma;  daughter-in-law, Lori Haisma; grandchildren; great grandchildren and his many friends. Bill loved his family, growing sunflowers and farming with his best friends, son Mike and son-in-law Paul. Honoring his wish there will be no funeral service.
