Violet May (Kitchen) Petznik

Violet May Petznik, age 99, of Coopersville, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Alpha and Minnie (Housel) Kitchen. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Leonard David Petznik; sons, Larry Petznik, Donald Petznik and Michael Petznik and grandchild Donnia Dehoag

Violet loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes for children and working in her garden.

She will be deeply missed by her children, Dan (Lois) Petznik, Leonard (Elaine) Petznik and Lauri (Tony) Clay; grandchildren, Andrea (Rick) O-Shinski, Shawn Petznik, Danelle (Scott) Hepworth, Josh Petznik, Tristen (Rich) Versluis, Nick Petznik, Rachel Petznik, Taylor Petznik, Lindsey (Lucas) Bradley, Chelsea (Dylan) Brow, Gabrielle Clay and Tyler Stellema; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 27, 2026 at the Throop Funeral Home, with Bernie Andersen officiating. Burial will take place in Maplewood cemetery in Lamont. The family would like to invite everyone to join with them following the service for a luncheon at the Wright Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 16429 40th Ave, Coopersville, MI 49404
