Verna Merkins

Mrs. Verna Fern Merkins nee Page, aged 96, of Nunica, was called home to her Lord Tuesday, Oct 9, 2012. Verna was a long time member of St Luke Lutheran Church and resident of Nunica. Verna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and cared for and loved her family deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl é�a�A"Cappyé�a�� Merkins, son David and son-in-law Jim Coleman. Verna is survived by her children, Dixie Coleman, Kenneth and Terri Merkins, Kathleen and Tom Webb; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sister, Shirley and Howard Trygstad and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, Oct 13, 2012 at St Luke Lutheran Church, Rev. William Lahrman officiating. Burial in Nunica Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville. Memorial donations may be made to St Luke Lutheran Church, 11261 South St., P.O.
