Stephen Vanantwerpen

Stephen Donald VanAntwerpen, age 66, of Spring Lake, entered victoriously into heaven on March 22, 2017. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Lois (Kloet) VanAntwerpen, and is survived by his wife and best friend of 40 years, Betsy; his precious children and grandchildren Christian and Crystal VanAntwerpen, Ava and Corinne; Stephen and Casey VanAntwerpen, Derk and Greta; and Lauren and Gerrit Visser, Nolan and Henry. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Lynne and Jim Springvloed, Judi and Scott Scholten, Don and Elizabeth VanAntwerpen, Tim and Karen VanAntwerpen, and Joel and Bonnie VanAntwerpen; beloved stepmother Eleanor VanAntwerpen and stepbrothers and sisters David Deters, Mark and Lorie Deters, and Laurel and Rick Jander, sisters and brothers-in-law Sue Poll and Greg Young, Mike and Debbie Poll; many treasured nieces and nephews; and loyal friends Mary and Bob Crans and Deb and Doug Mauk. Steve was a man of integrity, faith and honor whose greatest joy was living a life of service to his Lord, his family, his neighbor and his country. This was exemplified by his volunteer service with the US Navy, the US Navy Sea Cadet Corps, and World Renew Disaster Relief Services. In keeping with Steve's wish cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at the Coopersville Reformed Church where Steve was an active member for many years with Rev. Greg Stamm officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville.
