Shirley Pittman

Shirley M. (Ely) Creager Pittman, age 84, of Conklin, MI., passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 with family at her side. She was born in Ravenna Twp. MI to the late Patsy and Nina (Garvey) Ely. Shirley was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Creager, Harold “Gene” Lagendyk and Floyd Pittman and brothers LaVerne, Darrel and Robert Ely. Shirley was a longtime member of Conklin Ref. Church, joining the church at age 17. She loved spending time with her family and friends, was an avid polka fan, enjoyed nature, flowers and gardening. The dash between her years is not enough space for the memories she created for so many friends and family. She hadn’t a cross word for anyone, and with her unique sense of humor she left everyone with a smile.

She will be missed by her children, Patricia (James) Lewis, Jackie Creager (Bill Kopinski), Robert (Michelle) Creager, William (Cathie) Creager and Kathy (Marc) Bennetts; Floyd's children, Roger, Dennis, Karel, Kathy, and Jim; ; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Darwin Ely; sister-in-law, Marvel Ely and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday, 11:00 AM at Conklin Reformed Church, 3769 Sehler St, Conklin, MI 49403 with Pastor Tony DeLaRosa officiating. Burial will be at Rosedale Memorial Park in Standale, MI. Visitation Sunday 6 to 8 pm at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville and Monday one hour prior to the service at church.
