Rosa Vargo

January 10, 1927 — November 26, 2017

Rosa “Rose” Vargo, age 90, of Coopersville, passed away peacefully at home with family at her side. She was born to the late Joseph and Sophie Moser in Polkton Twp. and has been a lifelong area resident. Rose worked for a short time at Leigh Products and then as a homemaker raising her children. She is a longtime member of St Michael’s Catholic Church in Coopersville. Rose enjoyed spending time with her family, tending her garden especially her flower gardens, cooking, going for walks, watching the wildlife out her slider door at home the birds and deer would come right up to her deck. She also enjoyed taking a ride in the car a little shopping at the mall and eventually ending up in Fruitport where she would enjoy a butter pecan ice cream cone. Rose was preceded in death by her husband Joe on Jun. 10, 2014 and her son-in-law Pete Englert on Nov. 23, 2017. She is survived by her children, Linda Englert,  Larry Vargo, Ron Vargo and Valia Mons, Nancy (Daniel) Wozniak and Rose (Robert) Beach; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Virginia Moser; many nieces and nephews along with special friends and caregivers Carolyn Dorsey, Candace Hazewinkel, Nellie Alexander, Dan Hudelson and Becky Potter. Rose was also preceded in death by her sisters, Anna and Ruth and brothers, Robert, Al, Andy and Pete. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Fr. Ayub Nasar 11:00 A.M. Friday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 17150 88th Ave, Coopersville 49404 with burial in St Michael’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family 4 to 7 P.M. Thursday at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville and Friday one hour prior to the mass at church. Memorial donations may be made to American Kidney Fund or St Michael’s Catholic Church in Coopersville. An online guestbook may be signed at www.throopfh.com
