Ronald Merkins

Ronald Floyd Merkins, age 89, passed away August 27, 2020. Ron was born in Nunica, MI. to the late Floyd and Charlotte (Conley) Merkins. He served in the U.S. Air Force, was a charter member of the Coopersville VFW Post 5598, retired from the C & O Railroad where he worked as a brakeman and in his younger years he raced at Berlin Raceway in Marne. Ron was preceded in death by his wife Caroline in 2002. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Schrier; son, Jeffery (Betty) Merkins; grandson, Brett Schrier; granddaughter, Michelle Ritzema; brother Roger Merkins; special friend Joyce Vogel.
