Robert Baker

Robert Daniel Baker, age 85, of Marne passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021. Robert was born in Sparta, MI., to the late Daniel and Leona (Snyder) Baker. He served in the U.S. Army, was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved being around his family and could build or fix just about anything. His job as a truck driver gave him extensive knowledge of the roads and Robert was better than google maps at getting you where you needed to go. Robert is survived by his wife, Darla (Longnecker) Baker; son, Robert (Robin) Baker; daughter, Bonnie (Jeff) Doane; grandchildren, Scott Truszkowski, Amanda (TJ) Chaney, Jeremy (Holly) Hartman, Jason (Reidene) Doane, Jessica (Aaron) Morgan and Arres Doane; great grandchildren, Tyler and Nathan Chaney; Tristan Umbarger, Chloe Mosher and Lilith Hartman; Lily Hinzman and Aria Sheller; and Benjamin Morgan; brother, Gordon (Joyce) Baker; sister-in-law, Joanne Heath and many nieces and nephews. A private service will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2021 with burial at Rosedale Memorial Park in Grand Rapids. Condolences for the family may be left on Robert’s Tribute Wall at throopfh.com.
