Richard Daniel Bos "Dick" passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026. Richard is survived by his wife, Rachel (Ketner), children Robert Bos & Jennie Bos, grandchildren Brittany Bos & Colton Bos, sister Joan (William) Decker, godson Zach (Shannon) Wendt, adopted daughter Ginny Beld, adopted granddaughters Ariel Hendershot & Britney Leiter and many cousins, nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by his eldest son, John LeRoy Bos.
Richard was born on August 17, 1939, to John & Annette (Berg) Bos in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Music was a big part of his life growing up. Dick started singing for "The Children's Bible Hour" as an elementary student. He would go on to learn to play piano and organ. Dick sang tenor & played piano for multiple choirs and groups throughout the years. He was also a member and lieutenant for the Coopersville Civil Defense for decades.
Dick drove charter bus for Empire/G&M Coaches for most of his working life. During that time, he saw most of the continental United States and parts of Canada. He also drove names like David Bowie and the DeBarge family. After spending so many years on the road, he decided to take a daily truck driving job until retirement. During which, he became a ride operator at Busch Gardens Tampa, until moving back to Michigan.
In keeping with Dick’s wish cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, May 1, 2026 from 5:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. at Little Farms Chapel, 2518 Arthur St E, Coopersville MI, 49404 followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 6:30 P.M. with Pastor Bob Van Manen officiating. After the service everyone is invited to join the family for refreshments in the church activity center.
