Raymond Dennis "Ray" Rasch, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Wright Township, Michigan, on August 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Ray was born on October 9, 1941, in his family’s home, to the late Bernard and Edna Rasch. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings. He attended Saint Joseph School in Wright Township and proudly served his country in the Army National Guard.
In July 1963, Ray married Phyllis Verschueren. Together, they shared 63 beautiful years of marriage and raised four children. Ray was a proud, third-generation fruit grower in Wright Township, operating Lakeside Orchards and selling fruit at various local farmers' markets. Along with managing his farm, Ray committed 29 years of hard work to McEnerney Spring Wire. An avid outdoorsman, Ray loved to fish and hunt. He was a devout Catholic, maintaining a lifelong membership at Saint Joseph Parish and serving as a member of the Knights of Columbus. In their retirement, Ray and Phyllis became snowbirds, wintering in Texas and Florida for the past 20 years. They traveled often, but Ray's favorite pastime was cheering on his grandchildren at their many sporting events.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Rasch; their four children, Chuck (Hope) Rasch, Kathy (Bernie) Marble, Sherry Bean, and Duane (Amy) Rasch; 11 cherished grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
