Paulette Ruth (McNitt) Porter, 78, of Muskegon, formerly of Coopersville, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024. Born in Sparta, Michigan to Bernard and Bernice (Wagner) McNitt, Paulette lived a life filled with kindness, generosity, and a deep love for her family and community. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Gerald "Jerry" Porter, and cherished the memories they built together. In addition to her parents and husband, Paulette was preceded in death by nephew Scott McNitt, great niece Sable Farmer nephew in law Dan VanHeukelom sister and brother-in-law Carolyn and Don Burgtorf and brother-in-law Elroy Schaefer. A graduate of Coopersville High School, Paulette was a lifelong learner and a source of unwavering support for those around her. She was inducted into the Muskegon Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2009, a testament to her dedication and passion for the sport. Beyond the bowling alley, Paulette's true joy came from creating a warm and welcoming space for her loved ones. Her home, affectionately known as "the Christmas house," was a haven of delicious food, festive decorations, and endless laughter, especially during family gatherings. Paulette was a master in the kitchen, renowned for her exceptional catering skills. She ensured everyone felt cared for and left no one hungry. Paulette's legacy of love and kindness lives on in her sons, Craig and Kevin; daughter-in-law, Sheila; grandsons, Egan (Chalee) Porter and Christopher Porter; great-grandchildren, Kylin, Elijah, Sloan, Blakely, Harper, and Charlee; siblings, Marjorie Schaefer, Gale (Marilyn) McNitt, and Darlene Rayba; Nieces and Nephews include Earl, Lue, Keith, Mary, Sharon, Bruce, Lauri, Mike, Jo, Ron, Lori, Aaron, Debbie, Eric, Ann, Annette, Rita, and Curtis.In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be any services.
