Nancy Jean Handlogten

Nancy Jean Handlogten, age 80, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Saturday, September 12, 2026. She was born in Grand Haven, MI to the late Louis and Fannie (Harjer) Handlogten. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings; June Velthuis, Margie Taylor, Ron Handlogten and Betty Wiggers.

Nancy enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially her grandchildren, volunteering and helping at Coopersville Area Public Schools with her friend Terri Siebelink. She liked playing card games and was a great euchre player. She liked spending time at the senior citizens luncheons held in Coopersville, going for walks and making personal cards for all occasions. She has a love for going to every garage sale she could find with her daughter Kimberly.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Kimberly (Russ) Young and Karla (Brian) Wiersma; grandchildren, Brandon Young, Chase Young, Hunter Wiersma, Jacob Wiersma and Greely Holman; sister-in-law, Julie Handlogten; best friend of 75 years, Linda Englert and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wish cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, October 2, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Coopersville Reformed Church Activity Center, 423 W Randall St, Coopersville, MI 49404, with a time of sharing memories starting at 7:00 P.M.
