Nancy Barkel

Nancy J. Barkel, age 77, of Coopersville, was called home to her Lord in Coopersville on Saturday, January 21, 2017 with family at her side. Nancy was born in Coopersville to Charles and Hazel (Randall) Waldie who preceded her in death. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She retired from the Fisher Body Plant on Alpine, Ave. after 30 years of service in the Special Sew Dept. Nancy enjoyed attending Music and Traditional Jazz Festivals and was a member of the Muskegon Jazz Club and Vintage Jazz Club of Grand Rapids. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters Norma Waldie and Edna Phelps and brothers, Bill Waldie and Lee Waldie. Nancy is survived by her husband of 61 yrs., Ronald Barkel; son, Kirk Barkel; grandsons, Jacob and Jackson; sisters Millie Renkert and Audrey Langly; brothers-in-law Richard (Marie) Barkel and Darryl (Denise) Barkel; many nieces and nephews. In keeping with her wish cremation has taken place. A Life Celebration Service will be held April 29, 2017, Saturday, 11:00 A.M. at the Coopersville Reformed Church, Activity Center, 423 W. Randall St, Coopersville MI. 49404. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow the service. Memorial donations may be made to Lori's Voice, P.O.
