Mary Cormick

(Please Note Date of Service and Visitation) Mrs. Mary Mc Cormick, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, aged 85, of Coopersville, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the end of a long, full life. Mary always put family first and was quick to support, to love and to be there for family members. She remembered each family member's birthday and anniversary. She was quick to find humor in every day situations and to make people laugh. She enjoyed being with friends and playing euchre, where one of her great pleasures was "shooting the moon". Mary was a member of both the Coopersville United Methodist Church and the Christ United Methodist Church, Bradenton, Florida. She was active in the Women's Group at each church. For many years as her daughters were growing, she was an active Girl Scout Troop Leader and organized summer camps in Coopersville. She loved children and worked as a secretary at Coopersville Public Schools for many years. For the last 20 years she enjoyed wintering at Bayshore Windmill Village with both new friends and old friends from Coopersville. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond in 1998 after 52 years of marriage. She is survived by her children, Edith and Craig Walt, Dr. Terry and Dr. James Vanden Bosch, Scot McCormick and Deborah and Henry Shymanski; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren, niece Pat McCormick Metcalf (Roland) and several other nieces and nephews who were special to her. Funeral and Committal Services will be held Wednesday, August 17th, 11:00am at the Coopersville United Methodist Church, Rev. John Morse officiating. Interment Coopersville Cemetery. Visitation 5 to 8pm Tuesday, August 16th at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St., Coopersville, MI 49404. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice, 2366 Oak Valley Dr., Ann Arbor, MI, 48103.
