Marvin Walt

Marvin L. Walt, age 89, of Coopersville, was called home to Heaven unexpectedly Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at his home. Marvin was a graduate of Coopersville High School and lifelong resident and area farmer. He was born to the late Peter and Caroline (Hendricks) Walt at the farmhouse in Coopersville where he has lived and farmed all his life. Marvin is survived by his wife of 49 years Ruthann (Longnecker) Walt and together they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 17, 2022. Marvin is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Norm Smoes; brother-in-law, Franklin Longnecker; sister-in-law, Elaine Longnecker; many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. In addition to his parents Marvin was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Warren and Nellie Walt and Gerald and Nina Walt. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Walker United Reformed Church, 1941 Randall Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534 with Rev. Dr. Sacha Walicord officiating. Burial will take place in the Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family 4 to 7 P.M Monday, April 18, 2022 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville and 10 to 11 A.M.
