Mark Rhine Stroven, aged 63, was called home to his Lord on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. During his second brief but brave battle with cancer. Mark's life was a testament to the values of hard work, kinship, and the simple joys of nature.
Mark was a proud graduate of Coopersville High School, Class of 1980, where he laid the foundations for a life of practical skill and dedication. His grew up the son of a farmer and later worked as a carpenter & heavy equipment service mechanic. Mark's Christian faith guided him through life's challenges and triumphs, providing a compass that led him to act with kindness and integrity.
He was an avid fisherman and snow-mobiler, both of which brought him immeasurable joy, as did his passion for woodworking.
Mark's favorite retreat was his cabin in the Upper Peninsula, where he met many new acquaintances and made many new friends. His love for the outdoors was paralleled only by his love for his community. Mark could often be seen driving around the neighborhood in his golf cart, stopping to chat with friends and neighbors and share a laugh or lend a hand.
