Marjorie Annette (Bode) Vedders, age 84, of Allendale, passed into Glory on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 as a result of heart surgery and a stroke and is now perfect and celebrating with her Lord and Savior. Marge was born to John G. and Mina (Bolt) Bode and was raised “up north” in Highland Township. She was a 1958 graduate of Northern Michigan Christian High in McBain. After high school, she headed to Cutlerville to attend and graduate from Pine Rest School of Nursing. It was there she met Frederick Vedders. They were married March 31, 1962. In 1985, Marge graduated from GRJC with her RN degree. She worked 20 years at Blodgett where she made many friends. After retirement Fred and Marge worked at the Christian Reformed Conference Grounds for 10 years. To this day, she was a supporter of the Grounds often found there on Saturday evenings for dinner and the concert.
Marge was a very accomplished quilter, making quilts for her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She also made many charity quilts. The grandkids were also recipients of handcrafted scrap books and crocheted receiving blankets. Every Christmas the girls would plan on handmade dish cloths and kitchen hand towels. The guys got baked goods including Banket.
