Louis Harris

Louis Joseph Harris, aged 87, of Coopersville, passed away on November, 12, 2013, at Heartwood Lodge, Spring Lake, following a long illness. He was born in Whitehall, on February 15, 1926, the son of Sydney and Carrie Harris, of Ravenna. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; his son, Scott and daughter Lynette, his son in law Ronald Panozzo; his brothers-in-law Jim Morrison, Bill Maycroft and sisters in law, Phyllis McCaleb and Loretta Tarizan. He was a Seabee in the U. S. Navy é�a�" a proud veteran of WWII. Louis retired from Leigh Products after 34 years, as a Maintenance and Safety Supervisor. His hobbies included farming and gardening, square dancing and music, and auto repair. Lou loved his friends, as his family. He is survived by his daughters, Laure (Dave) Veeneman, of Grand Rapids; Krista (the late Ronald) Panozzo, of Muskegon; Kerri (Duane) Snowdin, of Coopersville; and special friend Ruth VanderLaan. Also, grandsons, Trevor Antonides of FL, William (Valeria) Wiebenga, of WI, granddaughters Candice (Andrew) Epperly, of Lamont; Rebekah Rotman, of Coopersville; eight great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly; two sisters, Delores (Curtis) Kamler of MO., and Darlene (the late Bill) Maycroft of WI and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday 1 pm at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, with Pastor Robert "Butch" Roush officiating. Interment will be in the Coopersville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Coopersville. Please consider a memorial donation to Hospice of N.
