Kenneth Lewis

Kenneth William Lewis, age 78, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 14, 2018. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Cheryl and special friends Mia and Willie. He also leaves behind his beloved children, Susan (Curt) Vanderlende, Rick (Erin) Lewis, Steven Lewis and Randal Lewis; sister, Ruth Osborn; adopted children, Jamie French, Matt French, Valerie Hepker; many grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a very good friend Ken Fay. Ken was active many years in youth sports programs at Northview Schools, he was past president of the Athletic Boosters, enjoyed watching his children participate in the sports programs and received the Northview Community Service award for 1979-1980. As a youth he developed a great love for the outdoors, the Pere Marquette River, and Lake Michigan. He dreamed of having a fishing boat, which in later years resulted in the “Ticaboo” which in Ute Indian translates to “a friendly place.” Ken and Cheryl enjoyed hunting at their cabin in Kalkaska, traveling and camping in “Clarence” their RV. In later years he enjoyed his John Deere tractor “Johnnie.” He believed a better life was available to whoever was willing to work hard to achieve it. He also believed we are not Republicans or Democrats but we are Americans. We should all dream big and live those dreams. He lived his dream! According to Ken’s wish cremation has taken place with a private family service. Memorial donations in Ken’s memory may be sent to Interlochen Music Camp, Scholarship Fund, P.O.
