Kathie Sue (Whittall) Poelma

Kathie Sue Poelma, age 72, of Coopersville, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Louie and Marian (Vogel) Whittall. Kathie was the business manager at St Michael’s Catholic Church for many years, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going camping, spending time at the beach and tending to her horses. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 44 years, Richard Poelma; children, Andrew (Jillian) Poelma, Stephanie (Jeremy) Nelson, William (Jessica) Poelma, Amanda (Mark) Rozema; grandchildren, David, Oliver, Rosalin Nelson, Fulton, John Paul, Maria, Gertrude and Patrick Poelma; sisters, Sharon Fox, Judy (Les) Timmers, Bonnie (Jim) Rasch; sister-in-law, Joanne Fortin and many nieces and nephews. Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 P.M. Thursday, May 29, 2025 at St Michael’s Catholic Church, 17150 88th Ave, Coopersville, MI 49404, followed by visitation in the activity center from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 30, 2025 at St Michael’s Catholic Church, 17150 88th Ave, Coopersville, MI 49404, with Fr. Mike Hodges and Fr. Tony Pelak Celebrant. Burial will take place in St Michael’s cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Lori’s Voice, P.O. Box 66, Coopersville, MI 49404.
