Kalvin Kay Laug

Kalvin K. Laug, age 94, of Coopersville, passed away Monday, July 13, 2026.

Kal was born in Coopersville, MI to the late John and Hermina (Meyers) Laug. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers; Bud (Joy) Laug, Gordon (Audrey) Laug; sisters, Evelyn (Don) Metzger and Virginia (George) Handlogten.

Kal was born independent, thinking for himself at an early age. He started by buying and selling cars at the age of 12, got his driver’s license at the age of 14. Had a lifelong love of cars, owning nearly 100 vehicle in his lifetime. He worked for a local farmer while very young, through high school, usually 7 day a week. Kal was employed at Air Control for 30 years, after retirement he worked full time remodeling houses, which he did well into his 80s.

At the age of 20, he worked at continental for 2 years where he met friends who led him to the Lord. He studied and taught the Bible for over 50 years, at times teaching 3 different classes in 3 different cities on the same day. He also had a Bible study in his own home for many years.

Kal is survived by his wife Judy; children; Greg Laug, Randy (Cindy) Laug, Pam Laug, Brian (Sandy) Laug, Lesa (Bob) Rolfe; sister, Lois Gordon; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the Funeral Home.
