John Paul Nelson

John Paul Nelson, age 58, of Indianapolis, IN formerly of Ravenna, MI, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025. He was born in Muskegon, MI to John and Janice (Vandelier) Nelson. He was preceded in death by his father, John Chester Nelson. John loved spending time outdoors doing many activities, he was a project manager for many years, was very active with his church in Indianapolis. He was a great husband, father and grandfather and also enjoyed playing and taking care of his two dogs, Buck and Gracie. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 35 years, Melanie Nelson; son, Patrik Nelson; grandson, Gavin Nelson; mother, Janice Nelson; brother, David (Beth) Nelson; brother-in-law, Joseph Mrnka, sister-in-law, Annie (Miro) Hromnik and other family and friends. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Throop Funeral Home, with Pastor David Perry officiating. Burial will take place in Ravenna Twp. Cemetery.
