Janice Roman

Janice Roman, age 91, of Conklin, MI., passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Janice was born in Muskegon, MI., to the late John and Sue (Hart) Boak. Janice was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she loved to spend time with her family and friends. She worked as a beautician for many years, enjoyed spending time outdoors, was an avid sportsperson and enjoyed bowling and golfing. Janice played the organ and piano and also sang in the church choir and was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Conklin. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jay Porter and Henry Roman, step son-in-law, Richard Cnossen and step granddaughter, Noel Arnold. Janice is survived by her children, Ranier (Crystal) Porter, Jean (Thomas) Schwallier, Mary Cnossen, Todd Roman and Ryan (Lori) Roman; grandchildren, Jason (Valerie) Porter, Zack (Katie) Porter, Luke (Becky) Porter, Rachel (Jason) Lanning, Hannah (Seth) Edenborn, Laura (Ryan) Burke, Andrew Schwallier, Paula (Brett) Lemmen, Stephanie (Cary) Meyers, Kristy (Neil) Ellis, Richard (Kristen) Cnossen Jr., Christopher Cnossen and Fiancé Alexa, Emilee Cnossen, Mallory Roman and Morgan Roman; 26 Great Grandchildren; sisters-in-law Marilyn Adams and Elma Jean Graf; brother-in-law Ralph Roman; nieces, nephews and friends. In keeping with Janice's wish cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Mark Oswald officiating, with interment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Friends and Relatives may meet the family Saturday from 10 to 11 am at Church.
