Janice Marie (Hansen) Potter

Janice Potter lived a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Born on February 19, 1952, she found her happiest days fishing at the lake, camping under the stars, treasure-hunting at garage sales, traveling to new places, and—most of all—spending time with family and friends.

She married the love of her life, the late Floyd Potter, and together they shared 41 years of marriage. They raised two children, Pattie and Bryan, who brought her immense pride and happiness. Her greatest role was simply being “Grandma,” creating lasting memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Janice worked at GTE for 27 years, where she was known for her dedication and kindness. Outside of work, she embraced every season of life with curiosity, warmth, and a generous spirit.

She is survived by her children, Pattie (Richard Kolka) and Bryan (Katherine Potter); her grandchildren; Cory Neff, Morgan Potter, Nicole Potter, Tommy Stuck, Michael Stuck, Kristin (Kevin) Matvichuk, Nick Stuck, Lucas Potter, Jacob Potter, her great-grandchildren; Jayden Stuck, Daxton Stuck, Oliver Matvichuk, Hunter Matvichuk, Ezra Stuck and many nieces and nephews and close friends who were like family. She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd, her sister Gloria (Dale McKee), and her brother Tom Hansen.

Janice will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her love of family, and the way she made every moment count. Her spirit carries on through the laughter of her grandchildren, the stories shared around the fire, and the love she gave so freely. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday, September 1, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 1, 2025 at the Throop Funeral Home.
