James Schafer
February 23, 1937 — June 3, 2019
James Ray Schafer, age 82, of Coopersville, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 3, 2019. He was born in Polkton Twp. to the late Roy and Mildred (Simmons) Schafer. James was a lifelong area farmer and also retired from Leigh Products in Coopersville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his half-brother Arthur Sullivan, half-sister Elizabeth Sullivan and nephew Thomas Earl Schafer. James is survived by his brother, Robert Schafer; sister, Alice Gage and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Friday, June 7, 2019, 11:00 AM at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville with visitation one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. An online guest book may be signed at www.throopfh.com
