James Mcdowell

James Stanley McDowell, age 77, of Newaygo, MI., passed away with family at his side Friday, October 14, 2016. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Donna McDowell on April 26, 2013, his parents Glenn and Madeline (Jennings) McDowell, and siblings Roger, Ken, Ann and Donna. Jim retired from Bissell after 36 yrs. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, country music, playing cards, feeding the birds and chasing the deer and squirrels from his bird feeders. Jim is survived by his children, Julie (Dave) Ellis, Larry (Debbie) McDowell, Brenda (Allen) Sobleskey; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Ron McDowell; sister, Joyce Hedberg and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, 11:00 am at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, MI 49404. Burial in Washington Park Memorial Gardens, Grand Rapids MI. Visitation Wednesday 5 to 8 pm and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville.
