Helene Busman

Helene Elizabeth Busman, age 98, of Coopersville, fell asleep on earth and awoke in Heaven in the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, Sep. 20, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband James Busman on Jan 14, 2013, her parents Sie and Minnie (Witcop) VanAllsburg, and brother Vernon VanAllsburg. Helene was a lifelong resident of Coopersville and graduate of Coopersville High School. She had a deep Christian Faith and was active at the Coopersville Reformed Church for many years where she played the piano for Sunday School Worship. Helene enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, was a meticulous housekeeper and even better cook making wonderful pies, cakes and desserts. Surviving are her children, Richard (Karen) Busman, Karen (Nate) Burnell, Stanley (Ruth) Busman and Sandy (Ken) Cott; grandchildren, Kris (Sue) Busman, Ryan (Carrie) Busman, Todd (Jamie) Busman, Shelly (Curt) VanBeek, Cindy (Steve) Gronsman, Kenny Cott, Kelsey (Jim) Sjoberg and David Cott; 14 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Norma Busman, Florence "Pokey" DeGraff; brothers-in-law, Rev John Busman and Dale Alberda; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday at Little Farms Chapel, 2518 Arthur St, Coopersville, MI 49404 with Rev Robert VanManen. Burial in the Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Visitation Sunday afternoon from 2-5 pm at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville and Monday one hour prior to the service at Church. The family extends a special thank you to Visiting Angels and Brookcrest for the care given to their Mother.
