Gertrude Veeneman

Gertrude Ruth Veeneman (nee Adema), age 94, of Coopersville, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Gertrude was born in Coopersville, MI., to the late Walter and Katie (Vlasama) Adema. She graduated from Coopersville High School and lived in Coopersville until 2002 when she moved to Fulton Manor of Holland Home in Grand Rapids. She was a lifetime member of the Coopersville Christian Reformed Church and was very active in church functions for many years. She enjoyed spending time and visiting with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband George Veeneman in 1993. She is survived by her children, David (Laure) Veeneman, Barbara (Roger) Talsma, Steven (Donna) Veeneman, Rev. Ryan (Julie) Veeneman and Morris Jon (Deb ) Veeneman; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother Bill (Lois) Adema; sisters-in-law Ruth Adema and Hannah Adema; brother-in-law Norm Nanninga; sister-in-law Nellie Walt; brother-in-law Frank Veeneman; many nieces and nephews. Gertrude was also preceded in death by her infant grandson, Wesley J. Brink; brothers, Matt, Garrett and Bob; sisters Anna, Wynne and Rena. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Coopersville Christian Reformed Church, 200 Henry St, Coopersville, MI. 49404. Burial will be in the Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Visitation Friday 3-6 pm at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville and one hour prior to the service at Church.
