Frank Colegrove

May 26, 1929 — April 15, 2018

Frank Dane Colegrove

of Yuma AZ formerly of Coopersville, MI.

This is the story of the life of Beloved Frank Dane Colegrove. He was born on May 26, 1929 in Grand Rapids, MI. to Frank and Ella Colegrove. Treasured grandparents John and Gertrude Colegrove were instrumental in raising Frank along with having cherished grandparents Mace and Myrtle Luce in his life... with a beautiful extended family. Frank has three sisters, Connie (June) VanderWagen predeceased, Diane (George-Predeceased) Burica, Sandra Colegrove.

Frank Graduated in 1948 from Coopersville High School in Coopersville, MI. He received his Bachelors in Education from Western Michigan University, and years later went to Grand Valley State University where he received his Master’s Degree. Frank was also a member of the Honors Society of Phi Kappa Phi with Honors. Frank enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country for eight years. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Conrardy in 1952 and they had four children, Robin Colegrove, Connie Phillips, Gregory (Lupe) Colegrove, and Michael (Francesca) Colegrove.

Frank worked in Coopersville, MI. as a teacher and coach for two years. The family then moved to Conoga Park, CA. where Frank taught and coached for eight years. After his teaching job in California the family moved to Michigan and Frank began working in a maximum-security prison. Frank was a teacher, counselor, and a coach at the prison. He also started and implemented a reading program for the prisoners and worked there until he retired after 20 years of service. Frank and Betty moved to Yuma, AZ where he worked at the Yuma Union High School District. Frank was once again called to develop an educational program. This time it was for the Crossroads mission in Yuma, AZ. He taught and was a counselor at the Mission. Many men and women benefited from this program and received their GED’s at the Mission.

Frank was known to all as a great storyteller with a charming sense of humor. He was an inspiration to many... a follower of Christ who shared God’s heart of Compassion impartially to everyone he met. He was a Strong Man of Faith and Purpose. His favorite son was Jesus-Jesus-Jesus-There is something about that NAME. He loved God and loved people. So many are thrilled to see him again as he enters his Eternal Home. Glory to God...

Frank will be missed and forever embraced by his entire family, the Conrardy/Colegrove gang, including his grandchildren Joshua, Rocky (Flavia), and Wesley (Denisse) VanDenburg, Tanner Phillips and Yvonne Chapin, His great grandchildren, Champ, Diego, Kevin, Michael, Justin, Olivia, and Nora VanDenburg, Ariana Chapin, and many precious Godchildren...along with dear exchange student from Mexico...Maggie and her loved ones... the Mendezlyne family.

Blessings to All...Heaven Kissing Earth with Everlasting Love Forevermore-Friend of Bill W.
