Florence Lindberg

d. September 5, 2016

Florence V. Lindberg, age 93, passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2016. The first child of Paul and Lucille Karleskint, Florence Lindberg was one of eight children. She was raised on the family farm in Miami, Oklahoma. At the age of eighteen she left home to learn radio electronics and while volunteering for the USO met her future husband, Al Lindberg. Al and Florence were married and she lived the rest of her life in Coopersville, MI., raising seven children and actively supporting their farm and Aléaas appliance sales and service business. An avid gardener and lover of nature, she was a conservationist and a recycler long before the practice was popular. She believed in saving and re-using what she had, being highly influenced by the Great Depression during her childhood. Florence was happiest at home with her family and in her backyard, and had many talents, including music, sewing, quilting, drawing and painting. She was a member and supporter of St. Michaeléaas Parish of Coopersville for most of her life. Florence had a knack for practical problem solving, a talent she passed along to her children. By her example, her children learned respect for nature and how to be good stewards of the land. She was an active force in her childrenéaas and grandchildrenéaas lives and will be missed but always remembered. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Al and son Paul.
