Eugene Lemieux

Eugene Wayne LeMieux, a man of unwavering faith passed away Sat., Sept. 8, 2018 at the age of 76. A loving and devoted husband to his wife Pat of 54 years, together they raised 6 children, Jeffery LeMieux, Joseph (Cindy) LeMieux, Richard (Andrea) LeMieux, Tina (Jeremy) Wray, Michele (Corey) Dykstra and Michael (Lisa) LeMieux. Gene was an incredible grandfather to his 15 grandchildren, Amy, Christa (Kyle), Tanya (Paul), Jennifer (Orin), Kristin (Matt), Luke, Jillian, Colton, Cody (Nikki), Ezekiel, Cadence, Elisha, Mylee, Morgan and Brennen. He enjoyed attending there school events and was actively involved in their lives. Gene was blessed to have 10 great-grandchildren, Jayda, Jozlynn, Bentley, Payton, Maverick, Kylee, Coralynn, Justin, LayOna and Jayden. He will be deeply missed by his brothers, Norman (Meg) LeMieux, Allen (Cheryl) LeMieux, Randy (Rhonda) LeMieux, sister-in-law, Mary LeMieux, brother-in-law, David (Claudia) Finkler, sister-in-law Helen Finkler and his cherished nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his dear friends who he so treasured. He enjoyed spending time at the cottage on Coady Lake and loved to challenge anyone to playing cards. He was an avid outdoorsman; cherished hunting at the farm and fishing on Drummond Island. He was a man of unfailing faith and integrity. He lived his life to all who knew him as an example of strength and determination. With God’s mercy and love, Gene is no longer suffering earthly pain and is celebrating in the presence of the Lord. He has been reunited in heaven with his parents; Clifford and Clara LeMieux, his in-laws Carl and Jennie Finkler, his brother Bruce LeMieux, his brother in law Charlie Finkler, niece Maria Kasnowicz, and great nephew Anthony LeMieux. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 15164 Juniper, Marne, 49435, with Fr Ayub Nasar and Fr Bill Zink celebrants. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Marne. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville with the Rosary prayed Tuesday evening at 8 P.M. and Wednesday one hour prior to the Mass at Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Lena and Fred Meijer Heart Center C/O Spectrum Health Foundation, 100 Michigan St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
