E. Mae Busman, age 95, of Coopersville, MI., passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017. She was born in Ludington, MI. to the late Claude and Violet (Fox) Johnston. Mae graduated from County Normal College in Ludington with a Teaching Degree and taught in several one room schools in the area. She taught at Miller School east of Coopersville until it was merged into the Coopersville and Kenowa Hills districts. Mae took time from work to raise her family and returned to work at Leigh Products in Coopersville retiring after 30 plus years of service. She then joined McDonalds in Coopersville and retired at the age of 88. Mae was a charter member of Ottawa Center Chapel where she attended church, was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 5598 and member of the Coopersville OK group. In addition to her parents Mae was preceded in death by her husband Marvin and daughter Beverly Busman. She is survived by her children, Barbara (Phillip) Metten, Bonita (Larry) Nichols, Terrance (Kylea) Busman, Thomas (Rose) Busman and Theodore (Robin) Busman; 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sister, Elaine Ryder; sisters-in-law, Doris Johnston and Thelma Hecksel; brothers-in-law Lawrence "Whitey" Busman and Donald Busman; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 11:00 AM at Ottawa Center Chapel 8991 Leonard St, Coopersville, MI 49404, with burial in the Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville. The family wishes to extend a thank you to Metron of Lamont for the wonderful care given to Mae.
