Donald Cross

Donald W. Cross, age 70, passed away Tuesday March 24, 2015 at his home. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Warren and Sylvia (Larson) Cross who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law Robert Barrett. Don served in the US Air Force and was retired from the City of Grand Rapids where he worked as a Mechanical Inspector and in Mechanical Planning Review. He enjoyed boating, hunting, woodworking and chasing bargains at area flea markets with his brother-in-law Dennis. Don is survived by his wife of 28 years Karen; children, Lisa (Andrew) Allen and Amy (Vincent) Umlor; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Allen and fianc� Thomas Kolenda, Jeremy Allen, Tyler Umlor, Domenic Umlor and Shelby Umlor; siblings Denny (Karen) Cross, Carol (Richard) Cline and Daniel (Deb) Cross; mother-in-law, Mary Barrett; brothers-in-law Dennis (Diane) Barrett, David (Jodi) Barrett and John Barrett; sister-in-law Karla (Gunner) Waldie and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place the family will be hosting a Celebration Gathering Friday, April 24, 2015, from 5 to 8 pm at the Coopersville VFW Post, 511 68th Ave North, Coopersville, MI 49404.
