Courtney Marie Bradley nee Lohman, unexpectedly passed away from a medical emergency after delivering her daughter Emma Ruth Bradley on May 7, 2025 in Seattle, Washington while on a work conference. Courtney was full of life, she radiated light even in the darkest of times. She inspired those around her in many different ways. Courtney was a wonderful daughter, grandaughter, sister, mother and wife. Courtney met her husband Paul at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. They enjoyed life together for 3 years before getting married in 2017. They accepted each other’s flaws: Bears/Lions, Blackhawks/Redwings, Cubs/Tigers as they built a life together in Michigan. She loved her family second to God. Courtney had a vibrant faith life she carried with her from childhood into adulthood. She was active in her youth group at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Downers Grove, where she attended work camps and youth gatherings. As an adult, she was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she taught Sunday School to preschool - 1st grade. She was a natural when it came to teaching and talking to children about God. Courtney was the best mom, she loved her children fiercely. She loved going to zoos and passed that love to her boys. She was a kind, considerate, and bubbly person who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Courtney is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Mary Lohman, maternal grandfather, Robert Johanek, her aunt and uncle Linda and Joe King. She is survived by her husband, Paul Bradley; her children, William, Luke and Emma; grandfather, John Lohman; grandmother, Karen Johanek; parents, Scott (Gina) Lohman; brothers, Robert, Jack, and Jonathan Lohman; in-laws, George (Linda) Bradley, Mark (Amber) Bradley, Shirley (Thomas) Dean, Mary (Andrew) McCune, and several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and tons of cousins.
When discussing her funeral prior to this unfortunate event Courtney always said she did not want anyone to wear black. Instead she wanted to see a wave of bright colors and to hear joyous celebration. Although it may be hard to celebrate joyfully, we want to respect her wishes and request you wear something bright and colorful.
