Charles Shears

Charles L. Shears, age 97, of Nunica, passed away at his home Sunday, February 3, 2019 with family at his side. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI. to the late Charles Edward and Vernie Mae (Porter) Shears. In addition to his parents Charles was preceded in death by his wife Geneva (Jean) Shears (nee Cory), son and daughter-in-law Charles “Ray” and Myrtle Shears, son Richard Shears, daughter Sharon Shears, son-in-law Larry Rollenhagen, brothers Jack Shears and Archie Shears, sisters Harriet Hamblin and Fran Sheffield. Charles is survived by his daughter, Sheala Rollenhagen; daughter-in-law, Marva Shears; 9 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; siblings Howard (Evelyn) Shears, Agnes (J.H.) Metzgar, Don (Glo) Shears and Mildred Thompson; many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, Feb 8, 2019 at Ottawa Center Chapel, 8991 Leonard Rd, Coopersville, 49404 with Rev. Robert Porterfield officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Lake Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday at the Throop Funeral Home 214 Church St, Coopersville, 49404 and Friday at Church one hour prior to the service.
