Casey Haarsma

Casey Arthur Haarsma, age 57, of Coopersville, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Casey was an active member of Central Family Worship Center in Coopersville and formerly attended Coopersville Christian Reformed Church with his parents.  Casey enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved helping others. He was preceded in death by his father John Haarsma and father-in-law, Bart Szejn. Casey is survived by his wife of 36 yrs. Sheila; 2 sons, Casey “Cory” (Karen) Haarsma and Bryan (Lisa) Haarsma; 5 grandchildren, John, William, Mason, Chris and Paige; mother, Ruth Haarsma; siblings, Jan (Tim) Pickard, Paul (Wanda) Haarsma, Theresa (Tim) Creiger and Arlo (Lisa) Haarsma; mother-in-law, Jackie Baker; step-mother-in-law, Rosemary Szejn; brothers-in-law, Tim Baker and Jason Tyler; sister-in-law, Brenda (Will) Hobby; several nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Coopersville Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Lloyd Hemstreet, Pastor Wes Devries and Pastor Jack Stevens officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family Thursday morning 10 to 11 am at Coopersville Christian Reformed Church prior to the service.
