Brenda Lynn Aurich, known lovingly to family and friends as Brin, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2026, in Grand Haven, Michigan, at the age of 57.
Brin was born on July 12, 1969, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and she carried the warmth and spirit of West Michigan with her throughout her life. She was a loving, friendly, and thoughtful woman whose presence brought comfort and kindness to those around her. Brin had a gentle way of making others feel welcome, and her caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Family was at the center of Brin’s life, and she treasured every moment spent with the people she loved most. She especially loved spending time with her son, Anthony “Tony” Alcala, and her grandchildren, Vera Alcala and Sloan Alcala, who brought great joy to her days. Her love for her family was steady and sincere, and she found happiness in the simple, meaningful moments they shared together. She is survived by her son, Anthony “Tony” (Hannah) Alcala; her grandchildren, Vera Alcala and Sloan Alcala; her mother, Cleo Aurich; her brothers, Stuart Aurich and Darlene Flier, and Kevin Aurich; her sister, Alicia (Larry) Bugielski; her beloved dog Bella she leaves behind to her brother Stuart’s care, and many nieces and nephews who will remember her with love.
Brin was preceded in death by her father, David Aurich. Though her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved her, her memory will continue to live on through the family bonds she helped strengthen and the many lives she touched with her kindness.
Throughout her life, Brin enjoyed volunteering within the community, where her thoughtful nature and willingness to help others were evident in all she did. She would open her home to countless people and families and she took pride in creating spaces that were warm, inviting, and beautiful. These interests reflected the same care and attention she brought to her relationships, as she found joy in making life brighter for others in both large and small ways.
Brin will be remembered for her loving heart, her friendly spirit, and her thoughtful presence. She had a way of bringing people together and making ordinary moments feel special. Her family and friends will hold close the many memories they shared with her, and they will continue to cherish the love she gave so freely.
