Beverly Jean Tobin, age 92, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2026. She was born on January 24, 1934, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and lived a life marked by love, kindness, and thoughtfulness.
Beverly was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She treasured the simple, meaningful moments of life and was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved. Her warm presence, gentle spirit, and caring heart touched the lives of many and will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her.
She worked as a housekeeper for many years and took pride in her work and in the care she gave to others. Beverly was known for her dependable nature and her willingness to help wherever she was needed. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and found great comfort and satisfaction in knitting and crocheting blankets. Her handmade blankets were a reflection of her patience, creativity, and love, and they remain a lasting reminder of her thoughtful spirit.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Sr. and Marian (Burger) Harig; her husband, Frank Allen Tobin Sr. and her sister, Joann (John) Hoelsema. Though she experienced the loss of those dear to her, she carried their memory with her throughout her life and remained a source of strength and love for her family.
She is survived by her children, Allen Jr. (Donna) Workman, Cindy Empie; long time son-in-law, Mark Empie; Timothy (Becky) Tobin, Brian (Charlene) Tobin, and Shannon Tobin; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Carol (Ed) Smith; her brother, Earl Harig Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she leaves behind a legacy of family devotion that will continue through the generations.
Beverly will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the kindness she showed to others, and the thoughtful way she lived her life. Her family and friends will cherish the memories they shared with her and hold close the example she set through her compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
