Benjamin Welsheimer

April 27, 1983 — December 21, 2018

Benjamin Carl Welsheimer, age 35, passed away at his home Friday, December 21, 2018. Benjamin was a graduate of Coopersville High School class of 2001and served in the U.S. Army as a Medic in Iraq. He suffered for several years with PTSD after his discharge from the Army. Benjamin loved spending time with his children, was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and also loved technology and building computers. He is survived by his children Elizabeth Welsheimer, Julien Auve and Caoilinn Moore; best friend, Gilraen Moore; parents, Carl and Kathleen Welsheimer; sisters, Jacklyn (Adam) Gentile, Ashley (Brett) Simons; niece Juliet Simons; nephew, Logan Simons; grandfather, Benjamin Sherlock; uncles and aunts, Ron (Violet) Welsheimer, Randy Welsheimer, Anita (Kevyn) DeWit, Lisa (Josh) Jarka, Cindi (Ted) Howe, Mary (Chris) Pennington and many cousins. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville. Relatives and friends may greet the family Saturday one hour prior to the service from 12 noon to 1 pm at the funeral home in Coopersville.
