Alyce Cooke

Alyce M. Cooke, age 80, of Lamont, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014. She was born in Coopersville MI to Ralph and Marie (Albrecht) Averill who preceded her in death. Alyce was also preceded in death by her husband Larry Cooke on Nov. 30, 1993. She enjoyed the outdoors, tending to her garden and flowers, feeding the birds, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand to her neighbors with a meal or driving them to an appointment. She is survived by her 3 children, Doug Cooke, Dan (Sherry) Cooke and Laura (Ernie) Bauer; Shirley Gressler; grandchildren, Allison (Nick) Ross, Adrianne Cooke, Jason (Sara) Cooke, David (Leah) Cooke, Aaron (Kesha) Cooke, Ernie Bauer Jr and Jack Bauer; great grandchildren Jackson, Jada and Malia; sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Averill, Carol Averill, Mary Lou Pedley, Rose Cooke and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday, 1 pm at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, with Pastor Steve Demers officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood cemetery at Lamont. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home in Coopersville. Memorial donations may be made to Fountain View Assisted Living, 640 W. Randall St, Coopersville, MI.
