Alvin Kolberg

Alvin W. Kolberg, age 84, of Coopersville formerly of Marne, passed away Monday morning February 5, 2018. He was born in Nunica to the late Ernest and Cora (Erhorn) Kolberg. Alvin graduated from Coopersville High School, class of 1952 and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a hard worker and a loving husband and father. Alvin was preceded in death by his wife Karlene Kolberg on Dec 19, 2009, brother Elmer Kolberg, brother-in-law Harland Reister and sister-in-law Betty Huggard. Alvin is survived by his children, Kari (Randy) Warren and James (Jennifer) Kolberg; grandchildren, Matthew Warren, Dylan (Megan) Kolberg and Blake Kolberg; great granddaughter, Joanna Kolberg; siblings, Janice Reister, Everett (Sue) Kolberg and Joan (Leon) VanTimerin; brother-in-law George Huggard; special friend, Ruth Madison and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 AM at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville with burial in Norton Cemetery, Norton Shores, MI. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 to 11 am one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Fountain View Assisted Living, 640 W.
