Clifford Ray Cole, age 77, of Allendale, was called home to his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, August 11, 2018. Cliff was born in Eaton Rapids, MI., to the late Ray and Barbara (Higelmire) Cole. He was a member of the Pioneer Class of Grand Valley State University where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Master’s Degree in Education. Cliff taught school at Allendale Public Schools for 32 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, flying small planes, gardening and woodworking. Cliff was preceded in death by his first wife Rachael (Waldron) Cole on Oct 3, 2007. He is survived by his second wife, Rachel (Potgeter-Mitchell) Cole; children, Katherine “Katie” (Bruce) Harkness, Michael (Kim) Cole, John (Julia) Cole, and Loretta (Dan) Searles; 10 grandchildren, Michael, Rebecca (Ethan), Chesney, Alicia, Bethany, Daniel, John, Benjamin, Candace and Nathan; step-children Nathan Mitchell, Jason (LeAnn) Mitchell, Joel (Jodi) Mitchell, Vernon “Sam” (Sharon) Mitchell, Joe (Rae) Mitchell, Elizabeth (David) Wynsma and Sarah Mitchell; many step-grandchildren; brother, Tom (Janita) Terwilliger; sister, Helen (Leonard) Draschil; brother-in-law, Don (Marilyn) Waldron; many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services Wednesday 11 A.M., Aug 15, 2018 at Ottawa Center Chapel, 8991 Leonard St., Coopersville, MI 49404 with Rev Robert Porterfield officiating with burial in Allendale Twp. Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 5-8 pm at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville and Wednesday one hour prior to the service at Church.
